API 5CT Tubing Manufacturer

Seamless production tubing for completion and workover orders

Production tubing has to fit the completion at its connections as well as along its body. We supply seamless API 5CT tubing for oilfield distribution and well-contractor orders, with J55 catalog selections and named non-upset or external-upset ends. The offer identifies the body wall, end finish and required length basis for each tubing item.

Tubing grade, end finish and document basis

API 5CT defines a tubular product

Tubing is supplied against its material and delivery specification. The well completion establishes the service requirements. Working pressure and corrosion-service approval come from that completion design.

J55 and additional grade requests

The J55 selections give a defined starting point for a tubing order. Additional grades require their full types and delivery conditions, including the distinction between N80-1 and N80Q or the selected L80 type.

Edition and supplementary requirements

An order using API 5CT 11th edition names any required supplementary provisions directly. Previous-edition PSL wording is reconciled with the adopted edition.

NU and EU ends change the tubing assembly

Non-upset tubing

The non-upset end has a different connection geometry from external-upset tubing. Its mating coupling and thread finish remain part of the tubing designation, even where the body OD and wall match another selection.

External-upset tubing

An EU end has a locally enlarged section before the connection is machined. That end geometry supports a different connection envelope; the outside clearance has to be read from the selected end and coupling data, separate from the body table.

Connection finish and protection

End machining, connection inspection and fitted protectors form one preparation route. Protectors shield the finished threads during handling; they are removed for assembly; pressure-sealing caps are a separate item.

Production tubing and workover replenishment

New completion strings

Tubing sits inside a casing system with separate hanger and downhole equipment interfaces. Body bore, coupling envelope and the selected thread form are matched to that completion schedule.

Replacement and distributor orders

A replenishment order preserves the previous tubing designation instead of selecting by nominal size alone. Separate size, wall and end-finish lines also make mixed distributor inventory easier to receive and identify.

Bore access and finished tubing ends

Drift through the tubing bore

The specified drift mandrel checks a usable passage through the joint. Its diameter and length matter to downhole-tool clearance; a nominal ID calculated from the body dimensions is a different value.

Upset and coupling condition

Inspection distinguishes pipe-body dimensions from the enlarged end and coupling. Damaged thread crests, dents at an upset transition or contamination in the coupling bore are addressed before end protection and packing.

Material and test records

Tubing marks link the delivered joints to the material and agreed inspection records. Any additional examination, special drift or purchaser witness requirement stays identified in that release scope.

Tubing lengths ready for receiving

Grouped by the full tubing designation

Bundles distinguish OD, wall or nominal mass, grade and NU or EU end finish. Grouping by diameter alone would leave receiving staff to separate different connection items after unloading.

Protectors and supporting points

Fitted end protection and suitable dunnage keep finished ends away from handling contact. Restraints support the long joints without bearing directly on an exposed coupling edge.

Tally and quotation basis

The tally accounts for delivered joints and total footage. Our quote separates the selected tubing lines, end work, packing and delivery terms; the production schedule is distinct from transport time.

Tubing body dimensions and finished connection clearance

The end configuration is read from the upset and coupling data.

Use the actual end-connection drawing for clearance. Neither configuration is a substitute for a separately qualified proprietary connection.

Production tubing purchasing questions

Are loose spare couplings the same item as the couplings fitted to the tubing?

A spare coupling is a separate piece quantity, matched to the tubing size, grade and connection designation. Our offer identifies the coupling supplied with each threaded joint and lists any extra couplings separately, so the tubing count is not mistaken for the spare-parts count.

Does EUE mean that the tubing has a premium gas-tight connection?

No. External-upset describes an end configuration. A proprietary or specially qualified connection needs its exact designation and performance documentation; the EUE abbreviation does not establish that qualification.

Can cut tubing lengths be treated as finished pup joints?

A cut section is not yet a finished threaded pup joint. The finished length, end configuration, thread preparation and inspection requirements must describe the short joint being purchased.

Can transit protectors stay on the tubing when it is run into the well?

Transit protectors are removed before making up the connection. Their purpose is to protect finished threads during storage and transport; they are not a pressure-containing connection component. The running procedure covers removal, cleaning, inspection and the specified thread compound.

Is “N80 tubing” a complete grade description for a replacement order?

It may omit the required type. N80-1 and N80Q identify different delivery-condition requirements. Use the complete designation from the approved tubing specification when matching replacement material.

Does the J55 grade by itself establish suitability for a sour well?

No. The well environment and approved material requirements determine corrosion and sour-service suitability. A J55 grade name alone is not evidence that the delivered tubing satisfies those additional conditions.

Request your production tubing supply quote

Provide the tubing size, wall or nominal weight, grade, NU/EU or other named connection, length basis and joint quantity. A completion schedule or existing material list can carry those details. Add the destination for an itemized tubing offer.
