Mechanical Tee Supplier

Bolted side outlets with matched run diameters and cut-hole sizes

We supply mechanical tees that clamp a gasketed outlet around a prepared opening in the run pipe. Grooved and threaded outlet formats serve different branch connections. The run OD, branch interface and selected hole diameter identify the item, with both housing halves, the matched gasket and bolting counted as one assembly.

The outlet, gasket and prepared run pipe

An opening sealed at the pipe surface

The outlet gasket seals around the prepared opening. The housing locates that gasket and clamps to the run pipe, while the branch connects through its own threaded or grooved interface.

UL 213 product scope

UL 213 covers rubber-gasketed fittings for fire-protection service, including side-outlet fittings. Required listing or approval evidence follows the actual selected manufacturer, model, run/branch size and service rating.

Run-pipe and seal compatibility

The selected model identifies the accepted pipe OD, wall and gasket service. Those conditions remain with the outlet selection so the housing fit and gasket contact correspond to the run being purchased.

Hole preparation and branch-joint selection

Hole size and edge condition

The opening is located from the selected outlet drawing and prepared to its diameter and tolerance. Burrs and loose cutting material are removed; the gasket contact area is left in the condition required by that model’s instructions.

Threaded branch outlets

The branch item retains its thread standard and size alongside the run OD. A matching nipple or adapter is selected for that same thread, keeping the connection form clear on mixed fitting schedules.

Grooved branch outlets

A grooved outlet retains its actual end OD and groove detail. Its coupling, gasket and adjoining branch-pipe end are matched to that selected joint system.

Branch outlets for fabrication and material schedules

Outlet quantities along a prepared run

A spool schedule can identify each side outlet by run reference, branch size and location. Separate outlet counts make the fitting takeoff useful alongside the scheduled run pipes and branch pieces.

Replacement fittings on an existing opening

An existing opening is measured and compared with the proposed model’s hole and run-pipe requirements. The replacement selection includes the gasket seat, housing footprint and available branch clearance.

Housing, gasket and outlet acceptance

Mechanical-tee housing and gasket beside separate measuring tools

Run seating and outlet geometry

Housing seating diameter, outlet alignment and the required run opening are checked against the selected model. The branch connection retains its own dimensional acceptance.

Matched gasket and hardware

The gasket reference, condition and stated service follow the selected housing. Bolt and nut quantities remain with that assembly; loose replacement hardware has its own identified item.

Finish and item identity

Coated surfaces, sealing interfaces and product identification are checked before packing. Each set is linked to its model and run × branch reference.

One complete mechanical-tee line

Our quotation identifies run OD, branch connection, gasket and included bolting. The quantity refers to complete assemblies; loose seals or hardware have separate spare counts.

Protected seals and mating surfaces

Gaskets and housing contact areas remain protected from sharp loose fittings and packing debris. Hardware is retained with the corresponding assembly group.

Separated run and branch combinations

Cartons distinguish the full run × branch references and outlet formats. The packing list reconciles complete sets and spare parts against the order.

Mechanical-tee purchasing questions

Does a mechanical tee include the branch coupling or nipple?

The complete outlet assembly covers its housing, matched gasket and specified bolting. Branch couplings, nipples or adapters are separate items when included in the quotation, with their own connection sizes and quantities.

What happens when the measured run OD differs from the nominal pipe name?

The selected housing follows the actual run OD series. The order keeps both nominal size and measured or specified OD together, allowing the matching model and hole detail to be selected.

How is a second outlet on the same run specified?

The fabrication drawing locates each opening and its orientation. The selected fitting instructions and pipe design establish the permitted opening arrangement, spacing and required pipe condition for those outlets.

Does the run pipe need a circumferential groove at the outlet?

This side-outlet connection clamps around a prepared opening in the run pipe. Its gasket seals at that opening, while a grooved branch model uses a groove at its branch end. The selected installation detail identifies the run opening and the branch joint separately.

What identifies a replacement gasket?

Use the housing model, run/branch size and gasket reference or material designation. The selected seal must match the housing and stated service conditions, with spare quantities listed separately.

How should an outlet installation be planned on an existing line?

The installation plan identifies and isolates the affected pipework, verifies it is depressurized and drained, and follows the selected fitting instructions for hole preparation and assembly. The quoted mechanical-tee model and matching preparation detail stay with that planned work.
