HEM Steel Beam Supplier

Heavy HE-series profiles with thick webs and flanges for specified structural members

Our HEM section supply follows the exact HE M profile and structural material requirement on your drawing. The thick web and flange dimensions remain visible in the order, together with length, end preparation and finish. We quote defined members and fabrication work for project purchasers and steel workshops.

Selected nominal HEM dimensions and theoretical steel mass from our HE section catalog identify the uncoated profile. Actual supply retains the ordered grade, section tolerance and fabrication requirements. Member capacity follows the complete structural design.

Heavy section geometry and structural material

HE M profile dimensions

HEM identifies the heavy HE section series. The complete HEM row gives its depth, width, web, flange and nominal mass for profile selection and connection review.

Material standard and records

The material line states the required structural grade. Its specification sets the material properties, testing and delivery condition alongside the selected heavy-section geometry.

Capacity belongs to the design

The structural design determines member resistance using length, restraint, connections, grade and load conditions. The selected HEM geometry and nominal mass provide the section information used in that design.

Connection work on thick HE profiles

Bolt grip and hardware fit

Thicker flanges change the bolt grip and the space available for washers, nuts and tightening tools. The connection detail uses the selected HEM flange and rolled fillet geometry.

Weld preparation

Attachments and end plates can require defined edge preparation and welding procedures. The thick web and flanges are retained in the drawing review so the fabrication scope matches the actual section.

Cut-face requirements

A simple square cut, an angled member end and a bearing end are different preparation tasks. The offer identifies the required end condition and acceptance criteria for each piece.

Coating and connection zones

The fabrication detail defines structural fit, surface preparation, protective finish and any reserved connection zones. Finished-fit allowances and coating requirements are coordinated at those surfaces.

HEM members for fabricated structural assemblies

Heavy-section columns and frames

Project material lists can retain HEM member marks and their associated connection details. The supplied section, grade and prepared ends remain traceable through the fabrication package.

Defined replacement members

A replacement review retains the specified HEM series and checks the old section designation against the adjoining geometry. Connection and fabrication details follow the accepted heavy-section member.

Section geometry and prepared-member acceptance

Web and flange dimensions

The heavy profile is checked using its depth, width and thicknesses. This distinguishes an HEM member from lighter HE series before connection work proceeds.

Member length and end condition

Cut length, squareness and any special bearing or weld preparation follow the piece drawing. Member marks remain readable after the pieces are separated from the bundle.

Material identity

The specified grade and heat-linked material records follow the supplied section through preparation. Required supplementary tests are identified against the actual material order.

Fabrication and finish

Drawing-defined holes, attachments and protective work receive the applicable checks. The release package separates base-section acceptance from fabrication and coating records.

Handling and shipment of heavy HE sections

Supported heavy members

The loading arrangement uses suitable supports and restraints for the actual section mass and length. Prepared ends and attached parts are protected from concentrated contact during handling.

Member-based identification

Each section group retains its HEM designation, lengths and piece count. Fabricated pieces follow their member marks, allowing the receiving workshop to reconcile them against the drawing list.

A visible supply and processing basis

Our offer states the profile, material, finished lengths and weight basis, followed by the required preparation and finish. Packing and destination terms refer to that defined shipment.

HEM Steel Beams purchasing questions

Is HEM 200 exactly 200 mm deep?

The selected HEM 200 is nominally 220 mm deep and 206 mm wide. Those complete dimensions establish the connection and layout reference for the named section.

Can I replace HEB with HEM because it is heavier?

A heavier section changes thickness, geometry and potentially the connection arrangement. The structural and fabrication design must approve that substitution.

Does a thick HEM flange establish a bolt length?

The connection detail sets bolt grip from the HEM flange, connection plates, washers, nuts and any other joint components. The specified hardware matches that complete connection stack.

Can the beam ends be supplied for direct bearing?

A bearing-end requirement needs a drawing with the required end condition and tolerances. It is priced as a defined preparation scope, separately from a standard cut length.

Does the listed mass prove the capacity of a column?

Column resistance is established by the governing structural design using grade, length, restraint, eccentricity and connection details. The table supplies the HEM profile geometry and nominal mass for that assessment.

Can HEM be supplied under a US HP designation?

HEM supply retains its HE designation. A US HP requirement follows the actual HP profile and material specification, with the applicable project acceptance for that section series.
