Rigid Grooved Coupling Supplier

Complete housing, seal and fastener kits for restrained grooved pipe joints

We supply rigid grooved coupling kits for fixed-alignment pipe runs in distributor and mechanical-project orders. Each kit keeps its housing style, pipe OD, gasket and fasteners together. The rigid joint is selected where the layout calls for restraint, with the pipe grooves prepared for that coupling model.

Rigid coupling pipe ODs and catalog fasteners

These selected catalog sizes use the actual pipe outside diameter. Bolt entries show quantity, metric diameter and length. Assembly torque comes from the coupling instructions.

Selected rows from the rigid/flexible coupling catalog, printed page 25. The 2-1/2 in. row above is the 73.0 mm OD series; 76.1 mm is a separate selection. Final housing, gasket, working pressure and tightening method belong to the identified coupling assembly.

Groove compatibility and service-specific seals

The groove is a controlled connection

Housing keys engage a defined groove diameter, width and position from the pipe end. A pipe described only as “grooved” can have the wrong profile for the ordered coupling; the groove designation stays with the selected model.

The seal follows the service

Water, oil, air and dry-system duty can require different compounds or gasket profiles. Our coupling line identifies the proposed gasket and its published service limits, so the quoted joint is complete.

Pressure and approval apply to the assembly

A catalog housing rating is checked with the pipe wall, groove preparation, gasket and operating conditions. Required UL or FM records identify the offered manufacturer, model and size.

Housing keys, bolt pads and pipe-end seating

Square pipe ends and a clean sealing land

The band between the groove and pipe end provides the gasket seat. Burrs, dents, weld buildup or heavy coating there can interfere with sealing even when the groove diameter measures correctly.

Rigid keys engage the specified groove

The rigid housing locks to its matching pipe-end geometry. Grinding a housing key, widening the groove or mixing a flexible half with a rigid half changes that connection.

Bolt pads close by the model instructions

Some coupling designs require a particular pad-contact condition; others use a different assembly control. Supplied instructions govern tightening and final inspection. The table gives bolt length only.

Tool clearance around both fasteners

The joint location leaves room to install and inspect both fasteners. Nearby walls, insulation and valve operators can limit wrench access even when the coupling fits the pipe OD.

Rigid joints in risers, headers and equipment pipework

Repeated joints on a fixed run

A rigid style keeps the selected run aligned where the piping layout calls for restraint. The schedule distinguishes any flexible joints retained elsewhere for their intended movement function.

Skid and mechanical-room assemblies

Coupling orientation and service access can be coordinated with the spool layout. The complete kit count follows the actual interfaces, including valve or fitting ends joined separately to the pipe.

Kit checks before rigid couplings are packed

Housing keys and bolt pads

Checks cover the ordered casting geometry, key surfaces and visible defects around the bolt pads. Housing halves remain paired to the same coupling style and size.

Seal and fastener identity

Gasket profile and compound are reconciled with the kit reference. Bolt diameter, length, finish and nut count are checked separately from the pipe nominal size.

Finish at contact surfaces

Coating damage, debris and excess buildup around mating faces are addressed before packing. The key and gasket-seat interface are checked directly.

Wholesale rigid coupling kits and replacement parts

One kit reference for one joint

Our offer lists each rigid coupling model, pipe OD, gasket and complete-kit quantity. Extra gaskets, bolts or nuts are additional counted parts, with their matching model identified.

Separate cartons for similar ODs

The 73.0 and 76.1 mm variants are kept under separate references. Rigid and flexible styles also remain distinct through carton labeling and the packing list.

Protected gasket and housing faces

Divided packing keeps loose hardware from damaging seals or contact surfaces. Receiving staff can reconcile the actual kit count without weighing a mixed box of housings and rubber parts.

Purchasing questions

Can I reuse the old gasket when replacing the housing?

Gasket reuse follows the selected manufacturer’s instructions and the seal’s condition and service history. A seal that fits inside the housing is not automatically an accepted reusable gasket; replacement seals retain the model, pipe OD and compound.

Will a rigid coupling straighten pipe ends that are already misaligned?

The pipework is brought to the alignment required by the joint instructions before assembly. A rigid coupling is not used to pull an unreviewed misalignment into place or transfer that load into an equipment nozzle.

Is the lubricant supplied as part of every coupling kit?

Lubricant is a separate item unless included in the quoted kit. Its compatibility with the gasket and intended service matters; a general petroleum grease is not substituted for the specified coupling lubricant.

Can the rigid housing be welded to the steel pipe?

The supplied housing makes a mechanical grooved joint. A field weld changes the casting and connection and is not part of that assembly. Any different connection requires its own approved detail.

Can a rigid grooved coupling connect two different pipe ODs?

An ordinary equal-size coupling is matched to its stated pipe OD. A size transition needs a specifically identified reducing coupling or a separate reducer arrangement; changing the gasket alone does not create that transition.

Are insulation covers included in the coupling dimensions?

The housing dimensions describe the coupling itself. Insulation thickness, removable covers and clearance for tools are separate layout allowances, identified in the project’s insulation and access detail.
