Other sizes and grades are reviewed separately. A53/A53M-24 also includes furnace-butt-welded Type F in Grades A and B; the main supply shown here is Type E and Type S. Your order retains its specified standard edition.

A53 pipe sizes: Schedule 40 and Schedule 80

Select the NPS first, then the wall schedule. The outside diameter stays the same between Schedule 40 and 80 at the same NPS; the heavier wall reduces the bore. These selected nominal dimensions let you compare the requested pipe lines before pricing.

NPS is a size designation, rather than a measured diameter. Nominal wall differs from the actual wall accepted under the ordered specification. Inch-pound and SI requirements use their own specified values. The purchase line identifies the applicable unit system and wall acceptance basis.

Grade selection for the specified forming work

Grade B on the material list

Grade B is available in Type E ERW and Type S seamless construction. The manufacturing type remains part of the material requirement when dimensions are the same.

Close coiling and cold bending

A53 identifies Grade A as the preferred choice for close coiling or cold bending, while allowing cold bending of Grade B. Send the forming requirement with any Grade A inquiry so we can review that material request separately. Type F has a further restriction: it is not intended for flanging.

Black or galvanized finish on the A53 order

Black pipe for further fabrication

Black A53 pipe can have the specified bare, oiled or protective finish. Preparation for later welding, cleaning or painting is included in the finish scope.

Galvanized pipe with a defined coating scope

Galvanized supply combines the selected pipe type and dimensions with the specified zinc coating and coating records.

Mixed finishes kept on separate lines

Black and galvanized pipe are grouped separately for receiving. Prepared threads, grooves or bevels are identified on the corresponding bundles.

Cut lengths and prepared ends for your connection

Actual lengths and cutting quantities

We cut to the stated finished length and piece count, using the specified unit and acceptance basis. Cutting allowance, offcuts and cut-piece identification are priced with the processing work.

Welding or threaded connections

Plain ends, weld bevels and threads follow the specified joint detail. One-end and both-end preparation are separate items where the purchase includes both.

Grooves matched to the joint

Grooved ends are prepared for the named coupling system, with the pipe OD, wall and groove geometry reviewed together.

A53, A106 and API 5L Supply

A53 mechanical and pressure piping

An A53 requisition selects its type, grade and dimensions for the specified mechanical or pressure piping duty. Steam, water, gas and air lines follow their piping design and service requirements. The design supplies the service conditions used with that material requisition.

A106 high-temperature seamless pipe

A106 covers seamless carbon steel pipe for high-temperature service. A requisition naming A106 remains an A106 material request, even where its Grade B size matches an A53 line. Any proposed material carrying both specifications needs actual records covering each named requirement.

API 5L line pipe

API 5L line pipe is quoted by pipeline grade, PSL and project requirements. The linked line-pipe range covers those selections separately from A53 supply.

Material identity and inspection records for the ordered pipe

Records tied to the supplied material

Material reports identify the specification, grade, manufacturing type and supplied heat or lot. Cut and processed pieces retain the agreed link to those chemical and mechanical records.

Dimensional and end acceptance

Inspection covers the specified diameter, wall and finished length, plus any prepared bevel, thread or groove. Required dimensional reports record the results for the ordered pipe.

Applicable pipe-test records

Required factory test records follow the pipe specification. They document pipe acceptance; operating pressure and temperature follow the piping-system design.

Submittal and witness requirements

Third-party inspection, witness points and document formats are agreed before production so the required checks take place at the appropriate stage.

Wholesale pricing and pipe bundles for receipt

Compare the same price unit

Pipe can be priced by weight, length or piece. A weight-based offer retains the lengths and piece quantities, with cutting, end work and finish priced for the same supply.

Separate types, sizes and prepared ends

Bundles are grouped by manufacturing type, NPS, schedule and finish. Prepared ends receive the specified protection; cut pieces have their own counts on the packing list.

Destination and shipment terms

Packing and dispatch follow the selected size groups. Staged deliveries keep each group identifiable on its own packing list and material records.

A53 pipe purchasing questions

Can our order retain an older A53 edition?

Yes, it can be reviewed against the edition named in your project specification. Include that designation with the inquiry; we check the offered material and record scope against it before acceptance. A current-edition reference on this page does not replace the edition on your purchase order.

Can bundle labels use our purchase-order item numbers?

Yes. Customer item numbers can be printed alongside the pipe and bundle identification. Your stores team can receive by its own code while retaining the link to the material records.

Can we request inspection samples with the shipment?

Include the sample quantity, dimensions and required material identity on the order. Where a traceable test piece or separate examination is required, identify its preparation and record scope before the pipe is cut. Sample handling and any testing work then have a defined line in the quotation.

Can a nominal 20 ft requirement be entered as 6 m?

Keep the length stated on the purchase list. An exact 20 ft length is 6.096 m, so a 6 m cut is shorter. The quote identifies the finished length and its acceptance basis.

Is the factory hydrostatic test pressure the working pressure?

No. The test confirms the applicable pipe-test requirement. The piping design sets the operating limit using the material, wall, temperature and other service conditions.

Get a quote for your A53 pipe schedule

Attach your pipe schedule with its A53 edition, type, grade, NPS, wall schedule and quantities. Add the finish, actual lengths, prepared ends, required records and destination. If the list only says A53 Grade B, send it as it stands and we will identify the missing selections. You receive itemized pipe and processing prices with their quantity basis, document scope, packing and shipment terms.
