Dry Pillar Fire Hydrant Supplier

DN100 and DN150 hydrants with straight or elbow inlet bases

We supply dry-pillar hydrants in the BS EN 14384/EN 1074-6 family for wholesale fire-water projects. DN100 and DN150 configurations combine a PN16 flanged inlet with BS336/BSRT or Storz outlets. The selected base arrangement, underground length and above-ground connections follow the hydrant schedule.

Dry-pillar hydrant configurations from our factory catalog. BS336/BSRT and Storz identify different outlet arrangements. The selected hydrant drawing supplies the exact coupling dimensions, flange drilling, buried length and above-ground geometry for the order.

Dry-barrel operation and project acceptance

A base valve and drain arrangement

The dry-pillar form places the main shutoff below the above-ground head. Its selected drainage arrangement empties the barrel after closure. Burial depth, local frost conditions and the site drainage detail belong to that chosen installation.

EN-family product records

The offered family references BS EN 14384 and EN 1074-6. Project acceptance identifies the actual manufacturer, model, inlet/outlet configuration and required product records against the adopted specification.

PN16 connection selection

The inlet connection retains its EN 1092-2 flange arrangement and selected PN16 designation. Hose and pumper interfaces are scheduled separately so a common inlet size can serve the required local outlet standard.

Buried length, base direction and outlet fit

Installed depth

The selected drawing defines its buried-length datum and the finished ground reference. Main-pipe elevation and local frost requirements establish the installation depth used for the hydrant selection.

Straight and bent bases

The two base forms produce different inlet positions and pipe approaches. Their orientation remains on the hydrant schedule alongside the connecting-main flange and available trench space.

BS336/BSRT or Storz

The two hose outlets and larger pumper outlet are supplied to the selected connection family. Mating couplings, caps and seals are identified with that outlet arrangement.

Head and operating access

Hose connections and the top operating fitting need usable clearance above finished ground. The accepted layout fixes the outlet directions, operating space and nearby physical obstructions.

Dry-pillar hydrants for project material schedules

New fire-water networks

Location tags connect each hydrant to its main-pipe inlet, base form and outlet family. A site schedule can combine DN100 and DN150 units with their individual installed depths and accessories.

Replacement pillars

A replacement preserves the actual underground inlet and the fire-service connections at the head. Existing barrel length, outlet elevation and base direction are compared with the proposed hydrant drawing.

Hydrant fit and operating checks

Dry-pillar inlet-base assembly beside a separate straightedge and caliper

Inlet and head geometry

The base flange, barrel joints and head orientation are checked against the selected drawing. The record retains the stated datum so installed depth and outlet elevation can be compared correctly.

Outlet assemblies

Checks identify the BS336/BSRT or Storz connections, their matching caps and sealing components. Different outlet families retain their own item references.

Main valve and drain

The required operating and closure checks follow the selected hydrant procedure. Drain operation and any specified pressure tests are recorded under the actual model and inspection conditions.

Coating and assembled identity

The visible finish, machined connections and operating fitting are reviewed before packing. Hydrant tags, required product records and loose accessories stay linked to the selected configuration.

Supported barrels and identified hydrant sets

Barrel-supported crating

Timber saddles support the barrel and inlet base along the shipping unit. Nozzles, caps, chains and operating fittings remain clear of hard crate contact and restraint loads.

Location-tagged configurations

Base form, inlet DN, outlet family and selected buried length identify each project unit. Loose caps, couplings or separately ordered spares remain counted with their hydrant references.

Dry-pillar hydrant purchasing questions

How is the buried length measured?

Use the datum defined on the selected hydrant drawing. Its ground-line reference and inlet-base location establish the buried length, while the above-ground outlet elevation remains a separate dimension. The measured site main and finished-ground levels are matched to those datums.

Does a dry-pillar hydrant order include the mainline isolation valve?

The hydrant’s base valve is part of its operating assembly. An auxiliary valve on the connecting main is a separate installation item with its own size, connections and operating arrangement. Our offer lists a requested line-isolation valve separately from the complete hydrant, keeping both supplied quantities clear.

Can a BS336 hose coupling be connected directly to a Storz outlet?

The mating connection uses the same specified coupling family and exact size as the outlet. A transition between BS336 and Storz is identified as a separate adapter with its own mating ends and project acceptance.

Which way does the operating nut turn?

The opening direction and operating-nut pattern belong to the selected hydrant model and its marked instructions. The accepted model drawing and operating information keep those details with the supplied hydrant.

How is additional underground length handled?

A longer arrangement uses a barrel-and-operating-rod configuration approved for the selected hydrant model. Its joints, total installed depth and operating geometry remain together on the revised hydrant drawing and parts schedule.

What identifies replacement caps and coupling parts?

The actual hydrant/nozzle model, connection family, size and seal identify the replacement parts. The original outlet schedule and product references keep BS336/BSRT and Storz components distinguishable when spares are ordered.
