OS&Y gate valves and butterfly valves for wholesale fire protection orders

Flanged OS&Y gate valves have a rising stem and resilient wedge. The drawing gives the open-stem envelope and handwheel clearance needed at the riser.
Wafer butterfly valves fit between mating flanges with through-bolts. The supplied disc and gearbox arrangement retains the required flange pattern and operating clearance.
Threaded lugs around the body accept the flange bolts. The compact disc-and-gearbox arrangement suits valve schedules that call for a lug connection. Dead-end service requires a model specifically rated for that duty.
Check the face-to-face length and maximum valve height against your riser layout.

Dimensions apply to our V3101–V3106 flanged OS&Y series. Hmin and Hmax give the minimum and maximum valve heights as the stem travels. Allow additional access for handwheel operation and maintenance.
The displayed OS&Y series uses ANSI B16.1 Class 125 flange drilling. Bolt-circle diameter, hole count and flange facing must match the mating pipework; the flange class and the valve’s 300 psi working-pressure rating describe different properties.
The published wafer drawing lists A/B/H/L/C dimensions in millimeters. At DN50 they are 141/65/123/202/43; at DN100 they are 176/95/123/202/52. The linked catalog drawing defines those letters and the matching flange arrangement.
The lug series covers 2–12 in. in PN10 or PN16. Its threaded lugs require the specified bolt thread and engagement length. The order identifies the lug body and drawing separately from a wafer valve, including the operator envelope.
Disc clearance is checked against the adjoining pipe bore, reducer or lined fitting. The valve drawing identifies the operating envelope beyond the body.
Handwheel access and gearbox position affect how the valve fits around a wall or another pipe. Our submittal drawing shows the operator envelope as well as the valve body dimensions.
The wafer catalog below includes selected 2–5 in. drawing dimensions. The valve offer returns the selected body style, size, pressure designation and full dimensional drawing for the installation.
Open wafer butterfly drawing and dimensions
An OS&Y supervisory switch is selected for the valve’s stem and mounting interface. The switch package provides electrical position monitoring in addition to the visible stem indication.
A supervisory switch fitted to the gear operator reports valve position. The quotation distinguishes the valve-and-gearbox assembly from the switch package, including the required contacts and enclosure.
Normally open and normally closed monitoring are different configurations. The approved valve schedule identifies the normal position and the contact arrangement required by the fire alarm interface.
A valve supervisory switch reports movement from the monitored position. Waterflow detection uses a separate device. We keep the two functions separate on the supplied equipment list.
Our valve data sheet states the selected size, working-pressure designation and dimensional drawing. A PN16 butterfly valve is not substituted for the 300 psi OS&Y valve simply because their nominal sizes match.
A UL- or FM-specified offer includes the record for the proposed manufacturer, valve model, size and configuration. The selected operator and switch package are identified with that submittal before acceptance.
Each project tag stays with its valve type, end connection, operator and switch scope. A tagged schedule lets the receiving team match the delivered equipment to the approved riser or zone-control list.
Inspection covers visible casting condition, epoxy coverage and damage around the seat. Flange faces and the exposed butterfly disc receive particular attention before protective covers are fitted.
The gate stem and butterfly gearbox are checked through their operating travel. Handwheel access, stops and position indication are reviewed against the supplied assembly.
Shell and seat-test records identify the model, test conditions and acceptance result. Test pressure and duration follow the ordered valve specification; they are recorded separately from its working-pressure rating.
Where a switch assembly is included, the check covers its mounting, contact configuration and identification. Valve and switch references are matched to the item list before packing.
Our quotation lists each valve by type, size, pressure designation and piece count. Supervisory switches, mating flanges, gaskets and fasteners appear as named items, so the supplied assembly is clear before the order is placed.

Bore covers protect the sealing surfaces from debris. Packing supports the valve body and protects exposed stems, handwheels and gearboxes from impact. Valves are identified by model, size and project tag where supplied.
A wholesale order can combine gate and butterfly valves in different sizes. The quotation states the batch quantities, production schedule and shipment terms for your destination; the packing list separates each valve line.
Yes. Send the valve tag and current data sheet or drawing. We compare the body type, pressure rating, connection dimensions and operator package, then identify the proposed model and any dimensional differences in the submittal.
They are separate supply items unless listed with the valve assembly. A complete connection set is quoted against the mating flange pattern, gasket specification and required bolt lengths.
The valve series, nominal sizes and operator or switch assemblies determine the production batch. Your quotation states the minimum quantity and shipment date for each valve line, including any separately supplied monitoring hardware.
Send the switch model and mounting details with the valve request. The stem or gearbox interface, bracket fit and required contacts must match the selected valve assembly. We identify whether the quote covers the valve alone or includes a new switch package.
