Industrial Steel Support Structure Manufacturer

Frames for equipment, conveyor routes and maintenance platforms

Equipment frames, conveyor supports and platform framing place the steel around the plant layout and required access clearances. We fabricate the members, attached plates and connections from the approved drawings, as shop assemblies or pieces prepared for site erection.

Factory preparation around the equipment layout

Mounting faces and access below the machine

The OEM layout locates equipment feet, mounting holes and the reference elevation. Bolts and maintenance tools also need usable access around those points. We fabricate attached plates and supporting members to that released arrangement, keeping the equipment interface with the steel drawing.

Openings and maintenance removal space

Piping, cable routes and removable equipment parts can pass through or beside the support steel. The layout reserves their openings and service envelope before braces or secondary members are placed. A platform opening is therefore part of the framing detail, with its edge supports included in the member schedule.

Shop assemblies and field splices

Welded subassemblies combine the members that can be transported and installed together. Larger frames use the approved bolted joints for shipping and field assembly. The fabrication drawing identifies those breaks so the site receives manageable pieces without an unplanned change to the structure.

Structural bolts and foundation anchor interfaces

Bolts selected for the joint

A member connection identifies the bolt grade, series, diameter and grip length, together with its nuts and washers. The approved joint also defines hole type and installation method. A tensile-strength value identifies the bolt material; it does not establish the capacity of the assembled connection.

Bases coordinated with concrete anchors

Base-plate holes follow the foundation anchor pattern and the equipment support datum. Anchor rods retain their specified geometry, projection and nut arrangement. They are scheduled separately from the bolts joining beams and columns, with changes resolved in the approved base detail.

Find the bolt grade or diameter series for a connection schedule.

The connection schedule retains the exact grade and series. Coating, nut and washer selection, installation and inspection follow that assembly’s specification. Equivalent-looking metric and inch sizes are not substituted through unit conversion.

Material grades for members and attached plates

A support frame can contain rolled sections, structural tubing and several plate thicknesses. Each piece retains its product specification and grade in the material schedule. Base plates, bearing plates and stiffeners are therefore identified separately from the member they join.

ASTM A572 Grade 500.100–4.005065 minimum

These values identify the plate material used in a specification. The required support reactions, member geometry and connections establish the structure’s design capacity. Our quote names the ordered section or plate identity instead of treating a grade name as a finished load rating.

Paint systems and galvanized support steel

Painted equipment and plant frames

The paint specification identifies surface preparation, primer and any finish coats, with the required dry-film thickness and acceptance checks. Equipment seating faces and connection surfaces retain the treatment shown in their detail. This prevents a general frame color from deciding the finish at a bearing or bolted interface.

Galvanized exterior and washdown steel

Hot-dip galvanized assemblies are detailed for cleaning, venting and drainage before fabrication is complete. Coating requirements follow the specified steel category and thickness. Mating surfaces, slots and attached plates are checked for the usable fit required by the final assembly.

Support steel for OEM equipment and operating plants

OEM equipment packages

An OEM can source the steel frame independently of the machine. Mounting faces, equipment centerlines and transport interfaces remain tied to the same drawing revision. The resulting purchase order identifies the support assembly without importing machine components into the steel scope.

Conveyors and material-handling routes

Conveyor supports follow the route, elevation changes and equipment support positions. The equipment supplier’s reactions cover the operating arrangement, while the structural design resolves bracing and foundation connections. Clearances around transfers and maintenance points stay in the released layout.

Process piping and maintenance platforms

Pipe-support locations and platform access interact with the plant layout. Thermal movement, restraint positions and equipment removal paths are coordinated in the support design before the frame is fabricated. Our steel package follows the resulting member and connection schedule; specialist pipe-support devices have separate line items.

Equipment fit and fabrication acceptance records

Equipment seating and hole positions

Mounting plates, hole grids and frame geometry are checked from the equipment datum. Attached plates retain their drawing orientation for fit with the machine.

Weld detail and examination scope

Welds follow the required joint size and fabrication specification. The inspection plan assigns the visual checks and any specified nondestructive examination to the relevant joints. Procedure, qualification and acceptance records are included when the order requires them.

Material and hardware identity

Member and plate records retain the ordered grade and product form. Connection hardware is checked against its listed grade, size and finish. Piece marks and hardware groups connect those items to the assembly drawing used by the installation team.

Surface and dispatch release

Paint or zinc checks use the agreed protective system and its acceptance basis. Seating faces, holes and field-joint areas remain usable after treatment. Final dispatch checks reconcile the released steel assemblies, loose parts and packing quantities.

Steel, Preparation and Hardware Prices

Support prices itemize members, attached plates, fabrication, finish and field hardware. Platform and access items are listed with their quantities, alongside the agreed shipment terms.

Packed dimensions and lifting limits

A shipping assembly has its own packed size and handling weight. Transport access and the site’s lifting arrangement set the practical limit for that group. Any smaller shipping pieces use the approved connection design before the steel is released for production.

Parts grouped for the installation area

Support frames and loose members are grouped by equipment tag or plant area. Painted and galvanized contact surfaces receive protected support points. Connection plates and hardware are separated by assembly, with their quantities reconciled against the packing list before dispatch.

Industrial support steel purchasing questions

Can I request a budget from an equipment layout?

Yes. An equipment layout with the support positions, approximate geometry, quantities and destination can start a budget quotation. Its stated scope identifies the information used. Fabrication follows the approved member, interface and connection drawings.

How are loose parts distinguished from shop-welded assemblies?

The piece list separates shipping assemblies from loose plates and members. A plate already welded into an assembly belongs to that assembly’s drawing; a loose field plate has its own mark and quantity. That distinction keeps fabrication and packing counts consistent.

Can I order different supports in one project shipment?

Yes. Separate equipment tags or installation areas keep each support assembly, drawing revision and quantity identifiable. Their packing groups can be consolidated in the project shipment while retaining distinct piece and hardware counts.

Can a replacement match an existing support?

A replacement uses the measured interface and the approved replacement drawing. Existing equipment holes, base conditions and service clearances define the fit. A section name or outside frame dimension alone does not identify all attached plates and connection features.

Can platform stairs and handrails be included with the frame?

They can be quoted as named additional items from the approved drawings. Decking, stairs, handrails and specialist pipe supports retain their own quantities rather than being assumed from the structural frame weight.
