Selected vertical inline catalog entries are published at approximately 3,000 rpm. The full family extends to 1,000 US gpm; a 1,000 gpm inquiry receives the pressure and curve for its selected unit. Metric flow uses 0.227125 m³/h per US gpm. Each supplied configuration states its curve, impeller, speed and motor data, including any 60 Hz requirement.

Hydraulic and electrical selection

One operating point

Required flow and pressure locate the duty on the selected pump curve. The project review also covers shutoff and the other required operating points for that actual selection.

Electric motor data

The motor selection states voltage, phase, frequency and rated speed. The approximately 3,000 rpm catalog data belongs to that published speed; another operating speed uses its own pump curve and motor selection.

Approval records

A project requiring a listed or approved fire pump uses matching product evidence for the supplied model, duty, motor and controller configuration. We retain that selected-unit evidence in the required submittal package.

Inline installation and service access

Opposed pipe connections

The inline suction and discharge arrangement is coordinated with nozzle size, flange pattern and the actual flow direction. The general arrangement fixes these interfaces before the adjacent spools are finalized.

Pump and pipe support

The selected model’s support instructions set the mounting arrangement and allowable connection loads. The engineered pipe supports and pump supports carry their assigned loads and control the forces at the inline connections.

Space for an upward assembly lift

Some inline constructions withdraw the motor and rotating assembly upward from the casing. That service path extends above the installed motor, while a different coupling or seal arrangement can require a different removal path. Our selected-unit submittal identifies the assembly to be removed and its clearance before overhead steel or services are fixed.

Fusion-bonded epoxy casing finish

Our inline catalog specifies an FBE-coated cast iron body. The quoted scope identifies the covered casing surfaces while retaining the required condition of flange seats and machined joint faces. The coating protects the cast iron surface, with the material identity and required fire-pump approval records stated separately.

Inline pumps for constrained building layouts

Compact pump rooms

A vertical arrangement can help coordinate pipe routes where floor area is limited. The chosen layout still retains isolation access, support points and a practical maintenance route.

Replacement inline units

A replacement review matches flange spacing, motor height, support arrangement and the original duty. Those checks establish the mechanical and electrical interfaces of the selected replacement unit.

Selected-unit performance and assembly checks

Actual pump curve

The release package identifies the selected model, impeller and speed with its performance curve. Required test points and witness arrangements are stated in the inspection scope.

Nozzle and mounting geometry

The actual connection and support dimensions are checked against the approved arrangement. Any difference affecting the existing spools or base is resolved before shipping.

Motor and controller identity

Nameplate and equipment records identify the motor and supplied controller. Those records retain the electrical characteristics used for the selected hydraulic performance.

Pressure and condition checks

The release check records the casing surfaces and connection-face condition against the agreed acceptance criteria. Protective flange covers keep the waterway clear during packing, and the required pressure-test records accompany the unit.

Packing the vertical unit and its accessories

Stable transport support

The pump is restrained at its intended structural support points. Motor, casing and flange faces remain protected from crate contact and loose packing material.

Protected electrical equipment

Controllers and separate electrical items are packed to suit their shipment conditions and identified against the equipment list. Site wiring is a distinct scope.

A defined unit quotation

Our offer states the selected duty, motor and controller, arrangement and required documents. Quantity, packing and destination terms follow that complete supplied unit.

Vertical Inline Fire Pumps purchasing questions

Can an inline pump be supported only by the pipework?

The selected installation instructions and engineered support arrangement assign the pump weight and connection loads. The order drawing identifies the required pump mounting and the adjacent pipe supports.

Does a vertical motor make this a vertical turbine pump?

The pump shown here is a vertical inline centrifugal unit. A vertical-turbine selection uses its specified shaft and bowl arrangement with the corresponding water-source and installation requirements.

Does vertical inline identify the shaft-sealing arrangement?

The selected model’s drawing identifies its shaft-sealing arrangement. A packed stuffing box and a mechanical seal each use their own parts and service provisions, so replacement components retain that exact model and part reference.

Does the red pump color identify an FBE coating?

The quotation identifies the FBE coating specification and covered casing surfaces. Color is the appearance choice; the coating scope and required finish records establish the protective treatment supplied with the unit.

Can I order a 1,000 gpm vertical inline pump?

The published vertical inline family extends to 1,000 US gpm. An inquiry at that flow states the required pressure, and the offer returns the selected curve, model, impeller, speed and motor configuration for that duty.

What is needed for an inline pump replacement quote?

Send the required duty, available water-source conditions, existing flange and support dimensions, motor space, power supply and controller requirements. Include the original curve or arrangement when available.
