IPE Steel Beam Supplier

Parallel-flange I sections for scheduled beam lengths and prepared ends

We supply IPE steel beams for fabrication orders that call for the European parallel-flange series. The standard IPE designation fixes the narrow flange, web and section depth. A cut schedule identifies plain lengths and drawing-prepared members. Schedules retain the complete designation for any accepted IPE A or IPE O alternative.

IPE dimensions, grades and fabrication requirements

Parallel-flange geometry

IPE inner and outer flange faces are parallel. This provides a flat connection face, while the root fillet still occupies space at the web junction.

Grade stays on each material line

The selected material standard and grade establish yield strength and toughness. They stay on the order with the IPE profile and supplied length.

Member design remains project-specific

Section dimensions and properties support the design calculation. The required span, restraint and connection conditions determine whether the scheduled IPE size is suitable.

IPE beam ends and connection preparation

Length by member mark

The cut list assigns each member its finished length and reference end. Equal-length pieces with different connection details remain different part marks.

Copes and notches

Coping removes flange or web material to fit a junction. The connection drawing specifies the cope depth, length and radius for that prepared member.

Hole layout and access

The flange width, web thickness and root radius set the physical working area. Hole gauges and wrench clearance are reviewed against the actual IPE profile before preparation.

IPE beams in floors and fabricated equipment frames

Floor and roof members

Scheduled IPE members can be supplied in erection groups with their end details identified. The floor or roof design establishes lateral restraint and any connection stiffness requirement.

Machine and skid frames

An equipment frame may need end cuts, mounting holes or local stiffeners. We price these features from the released fabrication drawing alongside the selected IPE lengths.

IPE profile and preparation checks

Correct series at receiving

Depth, width and thickness checks identify the supplied IPE series. The material record and piece mark complete the receiving check for its grade and prepared condition.

End features against the drawing

Copes and holes are checked from the named datum and member mark. End squareness and cut length are also recorded for plain-cut pieces.

Coating on connection faces

Coating scope identifies any areas that need masking or later treatment. Bolted and welded connection requirements are resolved before the finish is applied.

IPE beam quantities and delivery grouping

Lengths drive material quantity

Nominal kg/m multiplied by scheduled length provides the theoretical steel quantity. Purchased lengths and cut-piece yield are shown on the commercial basis where they affect cost.

Protect prepared beam ends

Bundle supports carry the beam bodies. Separators protect projecting features, coped ends and exposed finished faces during shipment.

Deliver by fabrication sequence

Member groups and packing marks follow the agreed assembly or erection schedule. Our quotation identifies the requested sizes, preparation work and destination terms.

IPE Steel Beams purchasing questions

How do IPE and IPN differ at the same nominal depth?

IPE has parallel inner flange faces; IPN has tapered inner faces and different web and flange dimensions. A proposed change is checked against both the structural design and the connection geometry.

Can an IPE size be supplied in an ASTM grade?

The quote identifies the requested ASTM material grade and testing scope alongside the European IPE section designation. The accepted material line retains both requirements.

How is a flange hole position specified?

The connection drawing locates the hole from a named datum and gives its edge distance and gauge. The detail also allows for the rolled root and the required fastening-tool access.

What determines the usable span of an IPE beam?

Loading, support conditions, restraint, deflection criteria and the governing structural design establish the span. The dimensional table supplies the nominal profile geometry and mass used in that assessment.

How are beams with different end copes marked?

Each distinct prepared end detail receives a distinguishable part mark. The piece list links that mark to its section, length and installation position.

How are mixed IPE sizes counted in a shipment?

The packing list groups each complete IPE designation by length and piece count. Cut and fabricated pieces retain their part marks so receiving can reconcile them against the fabrication schedule.
