Steel Scaffold Catwalk Manufacturer

Perforated hook-ended platforms for ringlock and frame scaffold orders

Our steel scaffold catwalks combine a perforated deck, formed side edges and end hooks in one complete platform plank. Choose the width and length from the catalog rows below, then match the hooks and deck elevation to the receiving scaffold. We supply counted plank lots for distributor orders and fleet replenishment.

Deck profile and elevation over the scaffold support

Low-profile or raised deck detail

A low-profile plank places its top close to the supporting ledger’s upper surface. A raised deck sits above that support. The chosen hook and side profile establish the actual top elevation, which matters where adjacent platforms or access parts meet.

Support spacing and platform duty

The selected scaffold arrangement identifies support spacing and the platform loading requirement. The plank specification then retains its sheet, folded edges, underside supports and hook detail as a complete working-platform member.

Deck duty under EN 12811-1

EN 12811-1 sets the performance requirements for access and working scaffolds, including the load class a working deck is selected for. The required class belongs to the adopted specification and erection drawing, which identify the catwalk width and its support spacing.

Hook seating, folded edges and underside supports

Hooks fitted to the receiving tube

The hook’s inside diameter is selected with the supporting tube and its finished surface. Saddle shape, throat opening and any required retention detail complete the connection. Both ends use the support-center dimensions shown for that plank.

Walking surface and edge profile

Punched openings and their formed edges define the deck surface. The side returns give the plank its depth; clear edge and end details keep neighboring planks aligned in the intended platform layout.

Underside stiffeners and attachments

Transverse supports link the deck and side profile at the specified positions. Hook attachments and the underside arrangement remain part of the selected model, so replacements retain the same complete plank construction.

Catwalk lots for platform takeoffs and replacement fleets

A platform width built from identified planks

The takeoff lists each plank’s width and count across the scaffold. Gaps, edge clearances and access openings follow the platform layout. Different plank widths remain separate models on our offer.

Replacement pieces for retained scaffolds

The original plank detail or a mating reference establishes its hook and support dimensions. A replenishment order can then identify complete replacements by width, length, finish and model quantity.

Finished deck and hook checks

Catwalk sheet and hook checks

Plank dimensions and support datums

Width, formed height and length are checked against the chosen model. Hook centers and end projection use the member drawing’s reference points, linking the finished plank to its support spacing.

Perforations, edges and attachments

Checks cover the specified deck openings, folded side profile and hook attachments. The required weld and surface acceptance follows the selected component specification.

Finished hook seating

A receiving-tube reference checks the completed hook connection, including its coating and retained configuration. Plank identity stays connected to those dimensional and finish records.

Complete pieces by width and length

Our quotation lists complete catwalks by selected model, finish and piece count. Included hooks and underside supports are identified with that plank, giving the receiving team a clear component quantity.

Stacking around projecting hooks

Separators support the planks and preserve clearance for projecting hooks. Straps bear on protected portions of the stack, with the deck edges and hook features kept clear of concentrated packing contact.

Groups matched to the platform takeoff

Different widths, lengths or finish routes have separate packing groups. The list reconciles plank quantities with their model references and the agreed shipment terms.

Steel scaffold catwalk purchasing questions

Is a 1,500 mm catwalk the same length as a 5 ft plank?

Five feet equals 1,524 mm, which is 24 mm longer than 1,500 mm. The replacement order uses the actual member reference and support-center drawing so that the length description matches the receiving scaffold.

Do two 420 mm planks create an 840 mm platform?

Their catalog widths add to 840 mm. The finished platform layout also includes the specified gaps, edge clearances and support arrangement; those details establish the usable platform width.

How do I request a shorter version of an existing plank?

Identify the required support spacing, width, hook form and deck profile. We quote a complete shorter member to that configuration, including its end hooks and underside supports.

Can a shipment include catwalks and bare steel boards?

Yes. Hook-ended catwalks and bare boards have separate product lines and quantities. Each line retains its own dimensions, finished ends and support detail, making the two formats clear on the offer and packing list.

Can the labels use our fleet item references?

Customer item references can be included in the agreed identification schedule. Each reference links to one plank model, finish and quantity so that the received pieces can be reconciled with the fleet order.

What should a sample approval cover?

A sample request identifies the receiving support and the selected plank model. Its agreed checks can cover deck dimensions, hook seating, top elevation and finished surface, providing a defined reference for the production order.
