Product standards and US submittals

ANSI C80.3

Steel EMT follows the construction and dimensional requirements of ANSI C80.3. The tube is identified by its EMT trade size and nominal wall.

UL 797 product evaluation

The table is our dimensional EMT catalog. An order specifying UL-listed EMT is offered only with the proposed manufacturer, listing file and covered sizes identified in its submittal. That product-specific record accompanies the offer before order acceptance.

UL 514B fitting selection

EMT couplings and connectors are selected by trade size and rated installation environment, with their applicable UL 514B product requirements.

Plain-end tubing and matching EMT fittings

Plain ends

Plain, deburred EMT ends fit the selected set-screw or compression coupling. This range is supplied without pipe threads or pressure-pipe bevels.

Set-screw couplings

A set-screw coupling joins two EMT lengths without threading the tube. The fitting grips the tube with its screws; its listing and use conditions determine where it can be installed.

Compression couplings

Compression nuts secure the connection around the tube. For wet locations, select a fitting identified for that use; a compression shape by itself is not a wet-location rating.

Box connectors

Connectors terminate EMT at an enclosure or junction box. The conduit side must fit EMT, while the box connection, locknut and any required seal form a separate selection.

Galvanized surfaces

Pre-galvanized steel provides the zinc finish in this range. Surface damage and internal obstructions matter because they affect corrosion protection and the path used to pull conductors.

Tube and fitting quantities

Tubing, couplings and connectors are separate quote items. You can buy tube alone or add the fitting sizes and types needed for the electrical schedule.

EMT for commercial electrical runs

Office and retail fit-outs

EMT is supplied in the trade sizes on the approved branch-circuit schedule. The electrical layout and conductor-fill requirement set those sizes.

Warehouse lighting

Warehouse orders are itemized by trade size, piece length and total footage, with the required couplings and connectors counted separately.

Equipment wiring routes

The final connection may require a transition from EMT to flexible conduit. That transition fitting is a separate part, especially where equipment movement or vibration affects the wiring route.

Damp or exposed areas

Environmental suitability depends on the tubing protection and the complete fitting system. The project specification and locally adopted electrical code govern the installation.

EMT inspection before packing

Diameter and roundness

Outside diameter and ovality affect coupling entry and grip. Dimensional checks compare the finished tube with the selected trade size.

Wall and bending condition

Wall readings are checked with the tube size. Bend evaluation examines flattening, seam opening and coating damage after forming.

Bore and cut edges

The inspection scope includes internal obstructions and sharp edges at the cut ends. These are direct contact points for conductor insulation during pulling.

Tube-to-bundle identity

Trade size, length and batch references connect the bundle label to the packing list. Mixed orders remain separated by size so receiving teams can count each line.

Wholesale orders, packing and delivery

Bulk pricing by size

EMT prices are built from the diameter, nominal wall, length and quantity of each line. We return piece and total-length quantities together so different offers can be compared on the same basis.

  • Tube and fitting prices separated
  • Minimum batch shown for each size

Protected bundles

Thin-wall ends need protection from impact and overtight strapping. Bundles are supported along their length, separated by trade size and kept dry during handling and storage.

  • Length and piece count on package labels
  • Fittings packed as separate counted items

Export shipment planning

The export quote identifies dispatch timing and the named delivery location. Freight transit and import-clearance planning remain separate from production.

  • Packing dimensions for loading review
  • Freight and delivery terms stated in the offer

EMT purchasing questions

Can I combine several EMT sizes in one order?

Yes. Each trade size has its own quantity, any batch minimum and packing entry. Several sizes can be reviewed together for the same shipment.

Are couplings included with every length?

Fittings are separate quoted items. The number of joints depends on the layout and cut lengths, so a one-coupling-per-tube assumption can leave connectors or transition fittings missing.

Can I evaluate the tubing with my bending tools?

Include the intended trade size and bending requirement in a sample request. We will quote sample supply and delivery separately. Your team can then evaluate the tubing with the bender and fittings intended for the job before arranging bulk supply.

Can you supply 20 ft or integral-coupling EMT?

Our published range here is plain-end tubing in 3,000 and 3,050 mm nominal lengths. Longer lengths or integral-coupling products need a separate supply review and are not included in this catalog range.

How do prices per piece and per foot compare?

Use the length basis in the offer. Divide a nominal 10 ft price per length by 10 for its nominal price per foot. Actual 3,000 and 3,050 mm pieces are about 9.843 and 10.007 ft respectively. Compare the same trade size and wall, with fittings and freight on the same basis.
