Butt Weld Pipe Tee Supplier

Equal and reducing branch fittings with identified run and branch ends

We supply carbon steel butt weld tees for branch connections in fabricated piping. Equal tees and reducing tees are ordered by their run and branch sizes, with material, wall and construction retained on each item. The branch takeout and available weld access are matched to the spool drawing.

Equal tee weld-end and center-to-end dimensions

These equal-tee references support branch and run layout checks. A reducing tee uses its own run/branch dimensional row.

Tee material and branch-fitting requirements

Material and dimension specifications

ASTM A234 WPB orders identify the material grade; ASME B16.9 addresses the wrought fitting. The purchase description retains both.

Manufacturing route and examination

A welded tee and a formed seamless tee have different manufacturing histories. Required examination and records follow that route and the adopted specification, including any additional project requirements.

A factory tee is its own fitting pattern

A site-fabricated branch or welded stub is a different detail from a specified factory-made tee. Its acceptance needs the relevant piping-design and fabrication route.

Branch takeout, bore fit and weld access

Run and branch datums

Center-to-end measurements use the intersecting centerlines. The complete run length is twice C for the symmetric equal tee in the table. Branch M is measured separately.

Reducing branches have separate dimensions

A smaller branch changes the branch connection and can change the takeout. The selected reducing-tee row or drawing fixes those dimensions.

Three ends can require different walls

The main line and branch can have different wall designations. Each mating connection retains its required end thickness and weld transition, including the branch where a bore mismatch can be harder to see.

Access around the branch crotch

The tee layout leaves the required room for welding and examination near the branch. Adjacent elbows, reducers and supports are positioned from the approved spool arrangement.

Branch fittings for headers and fabricated spools

Equal-size distribution branches

An equal tee provides a same-size branch connection. The fitting schedule keeps the material and wall tied to the correct header and branch, even where several similar tees appear on the takeoff.

Reduced equipment and utility branches

A reducing tee brings a smaller line into the larger run without adding a separate reducer at that branch position. The branch size and takeout remain explicit in the spool list.

Checks at the tee run, branch and weld ends

Run alignment and branch position

The selected fitting dimensions locate the branch relative to the run ends. Checks include the end-face relationship and the geometry needed for the ordered spool.

Diameter and wall at each opening

Both run ends and the branch are checked against their specified connection sizes and walls. Reducing branches are measured at the branch end.

Junction and finished edges

Surface and required examination checks cover the branch junction as well as the ends. Machined bevels and material identity stay visible until protective packing.

Equal and reducing tees kept separate through shipment

The complete size pair on the offer

Our quote names the equal or reducing type, run and branch size, grade, construction and end walls. Piece counts stay tied to that complete designation.

Branch ends protected in packing

Separators keep projecting branches and beveled edges from hitting neighboring fittings. Different branch sizes or walls retain separate item references, even when their run sizes match.

Records with the correct fitting lot

Required material and inspection records follow the supplied tee lot. Special marking, coating and packing are identified with the corresponding shipment lines.

Pipe tee purchasing questions

Is a reducing tee the same as a reducing branch outlet?

No. A reducing tee is a three-ended fitting inserted into the main run. A branch outlet attaches to a prepared opening in a pipe and has its own design and end arrangement; the two are not substituted by branch size alone.

Can the branch be smaller than the sizes listed in the selected catalog?

A size combination outside the adopted catalog needs its own fitting drawing and acceptance route. It is not created by changing only the branch dimension on a standard order line.

Does tee orientation matter when all ends are equal?

The loose equal tee has the stated geometry, but its installed branch direction follows the spool drawing. The piece count does not decide whether the branch points up, down or sideways in the completed pipework.

Can a tee be used as a lifting point for the assembled spool?

Lifting uses the approved handling arrangement for the assembly. A piping branch is not assumed to be a rated lifting attachment merely because it provides a convenient opening or projection.

Does a reducing tee always replace an equal tee plus a reducer without a layout change?

No. The branch takeout and overall connection locations can differ. The replacement arrangement is checked against the isometric and available space before it changes the material list.

Can the supplied tee be opened for an instrument tapping?

A hole or tapping changes the fitting. Its position, size, reinforcement and machining follow the approved design and fabrication scope; loose-tee supply does not include an unspecified instrument connection.
