Basket Strainer Supplier

Cast steel housings with removable baskets for pipeline solids

We supply cast steel basket strainers for wholesale industrial piping orders. The housing and removable basket are selected together for the fluid, retained particle size and cleaning duty. Each offer identifies the body material, basket or mesh arrangement, connection and required operating access.

Basket opening and pressure-loss selection

Perforation and mesh are different specifications

A perforation identifies the hole opening in its sheet. A mesh-lined basket identifies both the woven opening and its supporting structure. The order retains the actual opening dimension and construction alongside a mesh designation where used.

Clean pressure loss at the actual fluid

The selected housing and element have a flow-dependent pressure loss. The review uses fluid density and viscosity at operating temperature, with the basket opening and lining retained in the same hydraulic basis.

Dirt loading and the element limit

Collected solids increase the differential pressure across the basket. The accepted maintenance criterion and the element’s permitted differential condition establish the operating and cleaning arrangement.

Cover access, removal and drain arrangement

A clear vertical extraction path

The installed layout retains enough space to lift the cover and withdraw the whole basket for the selected housing. An overhead pipe or platform is checked against that service path as well as the closed housing height.

Isolation for simplex cleaning

The selected single-housing arrangement is isolated, drained and placed in its prescribed service condition before the basket is removed. A continuous-flow cleaning requirement uses an accepted alternative such as an identified duplex or bypass arrangement.

The drain and cover seal

Drain connection, plug or valve and the cover gasket retain their own material and interface references. The parts list identifies the equipment needed for the specified cleaning and fluid-handling procedure.

Basket strainers for equipment protection

Pump and process-equipment inlets

The equipment’s required retained particle size and allowable pressure loss guide the basket selection. The line design also reviews suction conditions where the strainer is upstream of a pump.

Project maintenance and spare baskets

A spare basket follows the selected housing, opening and material. The receiving list can identify installed and spare elements separately so maintenance restores the same straining configuration.

Basket integrity and housing fit

Element seating and solids bypass

Checks retain the basket’s top seating interface, support and closure against the selected housing. The basket seam and end construction are reviewed so the flow follows the intended straining path.

Opening and material identity

The release record identifies perforation or mesh opening, basket material and any reinforcement. A replacement basket retains those values alongside the housing model.

Housing and cover acceptance

Required body pressure-test records retain the selected specification and conditions. Cover, flange and drain interfaces are checked with the specified sealing components.

Body-supported shipping

Cradle supports carry the housing and protect flange faces. The prescribed transport arrangement keeps the removable basket seated or separately restrained without impact to its mesh or support ring.

Spare elements kept distinct

Separate packing protects replacement baskets from crushing and preserves their opening/material identification. Cover gaskets and drain parts retain counted accessory lines.

Pricing the selected strainer

Our offer identifies body and element materials, opening, connection and required records. Spare baskets, gaskets, packing and shipment terms remain itemized with the housing selection.

Basket Strainers purchasing questions

Does the same mesh number always give the same opening?

The actual woven opening also depends on wire diameter and construction. The basket order retains the opening dimension, mesh designation and material together so replacements reproduce the selected filtration detail.

How should a cleaning differential pressure be chosen?

The selected element’s permitted differential condition, system pressure-loss allowance and solids duty establish the maintenance threshold. The accepted instructions state that criterion and the monitoring arrangement for the actual basket.

Can a finer basket increase pump suction loss?

A finer or mesh-lined element changes the strainer’s pressure-loss characteristic. The pump suction review uses the selected element, actual fluid and operating flow so its pressure allowance remains consistent with the inlet design.

What is needed to quote a replacement basket?

The housing manufacturer/model and basket drawing establish diameter, height, seating and handle clearances. Opening, material, lining and reinforcement identify the element supplied for that housing.

Does a housing pressure test establish the basket’s allowable differential pressure?

The housing test records the body pressure-boundary acceptance. The basket has its own permitted differential condition for the selected construction, retained with the element data and cleaning criterion.

How is continuous operation maintained during cleaning?

The project selects an accepted alternate flow arrangement, such as a duplex strainer or a defined bypass/isolation circuit. That equipment is quoted as its own configuration, with the required basket-change procedure and flow duty.
