45-Degree Grooved Elbow Supplier

Grooved turns and two-elbow offsets for fire-water piping

We supply 45-degree grooved elbows for wholesale fire-water fitting schedules. Each elbow provides two prepared coupling ends and a defined center-to-end takeout for the selected pattern. Pipe OD, fitting geometry and coupling access stay together when the line changes direction or forms an offset.

Victaulic No. 11 standard 45° elbow reference, publication 07.01 Rev AP, June 2026. Dimensions are measured from the centerline intersection to each fitting end for that named pattern. Our order drawing identifies the supplied elbow takeout and coupling-end arrangement.

Grooved elbow geometry for the selected system

45-degree fitting identity

The ordered angle and pattern remain part of the fitting description. Its drawing defines the two connection axes and takeouts used for the spool layout.

Actual OD and groove profile

The elbow ends, connecting pipe and selected coupling use the same OD series. Their groove and gasket-seat details follow the accepted joint assembly.

Project product evidence

A fire-service submittal identifies the selected manufacturer, fitting pattern, size and required approval scope. Coupling and gasket references remain with the fitting connection.

Two-elbow offsets and straight-pipe cut lengths

Diagonal centerline distance

For two equal 45° turns forming a parallel offset, the diagonal centerline distance equals the perpendicular offset multiplied by √2. The released layout supplies that offset and the selected elbow pattern.

From centerlines to a pipe cut

Both center-to-end takeouts are deducted from the diagonal centerline distance. The selected joint’s actual end separation is then applied at each end of the connecting piece, using the assembly’s stated measurement convention.

Coupling installation room

Coupling housings and bolts need access around both elbow ends. The fit review includes nearby pipework and supports, keeping the selected joint hardware clear through assembly and maintenance.

45-degree turns in fitting takeoffs

Parallel riser offsets

A paired elbow arrangement moves the run around an obstruction while restoring a parallel direction. Elbow orientation and the connecting-piece length stay together on the fabrication mark.

Single angled changes

A single 45° elbow changes the route to the scheduled direction. The selected support and restraint layout carries the fitting and line loads through that change.

Axes and takeout

Geometry checks compare the fitting angle and center-to-end dimensions with the selected drawing. The measurement uses the defined pipe centerlines.

Grooves and sealing lands

The end preparation retains the groove and adjacent gasket-seat geometry. Checks identify burrs, coating buildup and handling damage in the joint contact region.

Pattern and finish marks

The release record identifies the actual elbow pattern and coating. Packed quantities stay separated from 90° elbows and other OD series in the same fitting order.

45-degree elbow pieces and joint kits

Separated casting contact points

Compartmented packing protects elbow ends and finish from impact. Grooves and sealing regions remain clear of hard restraints.

Elbow pieces and coupling kits

The takeoff counts elbow bodies as pieces and couplings as joint kits. A paired offset contains four elbow ends; the complete line drawing identifies the joints and any shared connections.

Pricing the routing change

Our quote lists the 45° pattern, actual OD and piece count, followed by requested coupling/gasket sets, finish, records and destination terms.

45-Degree Grooved Elbows purchasing questions

Is a 45° takeout half the 90° elbow takeout?

Each fitting pattern has its own center-to-end geometry. The selected 45° drawing supplies its takeout directly; that value is used for the cut list alongside the actual joint-end convention.

Can two 45° elbows replace a single 90° elbow in the same space?

Two 45° turns create a different envelope and add a joint or connecting piece. The revised layout uses both elbow takeouts, connection hardware and access clearances before that arrangement is accepted.

What changes when the offset lies in another plane?

The offset dimension is measured in its defined plane and the elbow orientation follows the released three-dimensional layout. Rolled offsets retain the line centerlines and orientation marks so the assembly can be reproduced.

Does a flexible coupling set the 45° direction?

The elbow body provides the scheduled turn. A flexible coupling contributes only the movement permitted by its own model data; the accepted support/restraint design retains the intended route.

Can the grooved elbow connect to a butt-weld spool?

The transition uses a prepared grooved pipe end or an identified adapter in the approved spool detail. The fitting order keeps the grooved joint and any weld preparation as distinct connections.

What identifies a replacement 45° elbow?

The existing pattern, actual OD, center-to-end takeout and groove series identify the replacement. The surrounding coupled length and hardware access are checked against that same geometry.
