PVDF Coated Steel Coil Manufacturer

Prepainted galvanized coil for color-controlled architectural panel orders

We supply PVDF coated galvanized steel coil for panel makers and exterior-cladding orders. The coating specification pairs the exposed-face finish with the zinc-coated substrate, primer and reverse coating. Color, gloss and the formed-panel detail stay together so adjoining panels and flashings can be purchased as one coordinated finish package.

PVDF coil dimensions and coating references

The dimensional bands describe our PPGI catalog. Coating references identify the published PVDF system separately from the chosen steel dimensions.

Thickness and width are published catalog ranges. The PVDF film and 2T entries are coating-system references; the quotation specifies the ordered substrate, dimensions, film layer schedule and test method. The selected bend-test procedure and finish documents establish the applicable forming and exposure requirements.

PVDF formulation and the coating build you order

Resin identity before a paint-family label

PVDF identifies the resin family. A project naming a 70% formulation or licensed product also identifies the paint formulator’s product statement and percentage basis. Arkema’s Kynar 500 reference sets a minimum 70% requirement and calls for licensee validation. Our offer identifies the proposed paint and the supporting evidence for the system required by the project.

Solid, mica and aluminum-metallic systems

The finish effect can change the coat build. Sherwin-Williams’ published formulation references use two coats for solid-color Fluropon and mica-based Classic II, and a third clear coat for aluminum-metallic Classic. The selected paint data sheet establishes the required architecture; our quotation identifies the actual product and included coating scope.

Compare complete film schedules

The same reference gives 0.9–1.1 mils total topside dry film for its solid two-coat system and 1.3–1.7 mils for aluminum-metallic Classic. A quote comparison uses the named system and its primer, color and clear-layer requirements.

EN 10169 and ASTM A755 delivery basis

EN 10169 states the technical delivery conditions for continuously organic coated, coil coated steel flat products. ASTM A755/A755M covers metallic-coated sheet prepainted by the coil-coating process for exterior building products and names fluoropolymer among its topcoats. The substrate carries its own sheet specification.

Approve the PVDF bend result before forming panels

Our published 2T reference

The factory coating table lists PVDF at ≥25 µm and 2T. Those entries describe different properties: film build and coating bend performance. The order identifies the film layer basis and the bend method before those catalog references become acceptance limits.

Bend direction and specimen temperature

ASTM D4145 evaluates coating flexibility and adhesion during bending. Bend direction relative to the rolling direction and specimen temperature affect the result. Our acceptance scope records these conditions with the required crack and adhesion criteria, including the relevant fabrication temperature.

A folded edge is a separate forming detail

The panel’s hem, return or tight fold is checked against the selected coated sheet and fabrication sequence. The coating bend report records film performance; the panel drawing establishes structural bending allowance and the required steel condition.

PVDF coil orders for exterior panel packages

Architectural sheets with a named paint requirement

An architectural finish schedule can name a resin formulation, pigment effect and coat build as separate requirements. We keep those requirements on the PVDF order line, while the base-steel and zinc specification follows the broader prepainted-coil program.

Color retention and film integrity

Color change, chalking and film integrity have their own report results. For an exterior project, the supporting report identifies the tested paint system, exposure conditions and the required endpoint for each property.

PVDF film, appearance and coil release checks

Dry film by stated layer basis

Film measurement identifies whether the result describes a layer or a total system. A total magnetic reading can include the zinc layer unless the measurement method separates it.

Report the bend endpoints

The bend record identifies the specimen, direction, temperature and the agreed crack and adhesion results. A coating can remain attached yet show a visible crack; the required endpoints therefore stay explicit in the acceptance record.

Coil dimensions and identity

Steel thickness basis, width and coil identification remain connected to the material and paint records. These references let the panel maker trace a visible batch after slitting or cutting.

PVDF coil packing and project quantities

Protect the face and coil edges

Coils are restrained and packed to protect the painted surface and edges during handling. The shipment arrangement identifies the coil orientation and lifting requirements for receiving.

Group adjoining-panel material

A project coil schedule groups material for adjoining visible areas. Coil identification carries the agreed paint-batch arrangement through receiving and panel fabrication.

Quote the supplied coating system

Our offer states thickness, width, substrate, paint system and quantity with the requested finish reference. Film schedule, packing and delivery terms remain visible commercial items.

PVDF Coated Steel Coil purchasing questions

What evidence identifies a specified Kynar 500 formulation?

A project naming Kynar 500 requires validation from the actual paint formulator. The product statement identifies the Arkema resin and licensed formulation basis; the offer records the proposed product and its supporting documentation.

Which substrate does this PVDF coil page cover?

This supply page covers PVDF-coated galvanized steel. The order retains the steel, pretreatment and forming requirements. A project specifying aluminum uses its own substrate and coating specification.

How is the clear-coat requirement established for a metallic finish?

The selected paint product sheet defines the build. Sherwin-Williams’ published examples include a two-coat mica metallic and a three-coat aluminum metallic with a clear layer, so the pigment system remains part of the finish selection.

How are film thickness and PVDF identity verified?

The agreed measurement method establishes dry-film thickness. The named paint product and corresponding material documentation establish resin identity. Both records accompany the specified coating acceptance.

How are hardness and flexibility balanced for a panel order?

The panel specification states the required handling resistance alongside bend and adhesion results for the actual coating system. Exterior color-retention requirements have their own supporting exposure data and acceptance criteria.

How should cleaning requirements be specified with the PVDF coil?

Use the cleaning guide for the supplied paint product. Manufacturer guidance starts with water or suitable mild detergent, soft tools and rinsing. Stain removers and solvents require product-specific compatibility approval and a small-area check before wider use.
