ASTM A500 metric rectangular tubing · Full lengths and fabricated parts
We manufacture rectangular steel tubing for wholesale and project orders from our factories in China. Supply includes 6 m and 12 m lengths, cut parts and welded components. The catalog below covers unequal-sided sections from 50 × 30 to 400 × 200 mm, with mill-finish, painted and galvanized options.
Rectangular Tubing for Long Rails & Compact Frames
Rectangular tubing is available as full lengths or prepared rails and frame members. The wider and narrower faces are identified on the drawing wherever a cut, hole or mounting plate depends on orientation.
Skid Rails & Structural Members
Long rails need to match both the available space and the connection details. Full-length tubing gives your workshop control of the cutting layout; prepared rails can include the specified end cuts and attachment holes. We quote either format against your member list.

Equipment Bases & Mounting Frames
The broad face provides space for equipment feet or mounting plates while the shallow side fits restricted frame depth. A repeated base order can combine the selected RHS with prepared members, reducing the number of separate material purchases.

Cut & Fabricated RHS to Match Your Assembly
We quote cut lengths, miters and holes from the part drawing, with the working face and orientation retained. Full-length RHS remains available for cutting and drilling in your own workshop.
Straight Cuts, Miters & Hole Locations
Miter cuts are defined by their plane, angle and long- or short-point length. Holes use a reference face and end datum. Left- and right-hand parts stay separate on the cutting list when an assembly uses mirrored members.
Finished-length cuts
Cut lengths and end squareness follow the stated tolerances, with burrs removed before packing.
Holes on the correct face
Dimension the hole pattern from the chosen face and end; include any clearance needed around corners.
Plates & welded parts
Mounting plates and welded components can be included with the tube, using the same drawing revision.
Surface Finishes for Further Fabrication
Mill-finish or oiled tube is suited to further shop work. For a finished frame, cutting and welding need to be coordinated with painting or galvanizing. Coated mating surfaces also need room for the finish within the specified fit.
Mill finish & oil
Choose unpainted tube when the next stage includes welding or surface preparation in your workshop.
Painted assemblies
Specify the preparation, paint system and finished color so exposed faces and mounting areas are treated correctly.
Galvanized sections
Hollow fabricated frames need suitable vent and drain openings before hot-dip galvanizing. Include their location in the fabrication details.
Rectangular Profile & Finished-Part Inspection
Inspection covers section shape, twist, straightness and prepared features. Finished rails are checked against the drawing and the locating points used in the assembly.
Formed, Welded & Sized Rectangular Tube
The welded tube is sized into an unequal-sided profile before cutting. The long and short faces, corner shape and weld seam become reference features for later fabrication. The ordered grade remains part of the material identification through production.
Dimensions & Finished-Part Checks
A long rail is checked along its locating span, where twist or bow can lift it away from the fixture. The agreed contact points and acceptance method connect the inspection to how the part actually sits in the assembly.
Material Identification
Grade and batch references connect the rectangular tube to the documents required for the order.
Section & Length
Both outside sides, wall and finished length are checked against the listed section and tolerances.
Face & Part Orientation
Cuts and holes are checked from the drawing datum and orientation marks. Left- and right-hand members keep their own part references before packing.
Inspection Documents
The purchase specification identifies required material reports, dimensional records and any third-party inspection before shipment.
Factory Quality Records
The linked BAOLAI library provides factory QC procedures and earlier pipe reports for reference. Records for your RHS order identify its own material grade, batch and agreed profile or finished-part checks.

Packing & Export Supply for Mixed RHS Orders
Separate Bundles for Similar Sections
Bundle labels identify the outside dimensions, wall, grade, length and order line. Prepared parts retain their own references for allocation to the correct frame or assembly.
Surface Protection & Lifting Arrangements
Timber supports keep bundles raised, with secured bands and contact protection for coated faces. The receiving plan needs the bundle length and weight as well as the available lifting equipment. Cut pieces are packed separately from full-length rails.
Production Schedule & Freight Scope
Standard production takes 15–30 days depending on section and quantity; fabrication and finish affect the confirmed schedule. FOB, CFR and CIF terms are available. The named port and shipping scope are stated separately from the factory production period.
One Quotation for the Tube and Prepared Parts
Material, cutting, fabrication, finish and freight are priced separately. You can order raw lengths, prepared parts or a combination of both.
Before You Order Rectangular Tubing
Is RHS the same as rectangular HSS?
RHS means rectangular hollow section. Rectangular HSS is the corresponding structural-tubing term commonly used in the US. Neither name replaces the material specification: this page covers ASTM A500 Grade B or C supply.
Can one order contain different sections and cut parts?
Yes. Give each size and finished part its own line, quantity and drawing reference. That keeps full lengths, mirrored parts and coated components identifiable through the quotation and packing list.
What is the minimum quantity for a trial order?
Trial-order requirements are reviewed by section, wall and processing scope. Any production minimum is identified against the relevant line before the order is placed, including when several sizes ship together.
Can I use an A513 drawing to order this A500 tube?
The material callout needs to be reviewed first. A513 covers mechanical tubing; A500 covers structural tubing. Equal outside dimensions do not make the specifications interchangeable, and a drawing that calls for A513 should retain that requirement.
Can you supply 20 ft or 40 ft lengths as 6 m or 12 m?
Those lengths are different: 20 ft is 6.096 m and 40 ft is 12.192 m. Keep the required finished length and unit on the material list. We review it as a specific length request rather than substituting the nearest metric mill length.
Can a third party inspect the order before loading?
Third-party inspection can be arranged with the order. Specify the records, dimensional checks and any witness points required so the inspection schedule fits the production and dispatch plan.
