Wet Barrel Fire Hydrant Supplier

6-inch hydrants with NH and Storz outlet options

Our wet-barrel hydrant range combines a 6 in. inlet with two-way or three-way outlet arrangements for wholesale waterworks and fire-protection orders. Choose the hose and pumper connections used by the local fire service, then match the base flange and selected 250 psi hydrant configuration.

Wet-barrel hydrant configurations from our factory catalog. The selected hydrant drawing identifies the inlet-flange drilling, nozzle standard and complete outlet assembly for that row. The working-pressure value belongs to the selected hydrant series.

Wet-barrel service and hydrant approval

A charged above-ground barrel

Wet-barrel hydrants retain water pressure in the barrel during normal service. This product form serves locations with a mild, frost-safe climate, following the local waterworks and fire-service specification.

AWWA C503 and UL 246

AWWA C503 addresses wet-barrel hydrants, while UL 246 covers hydrants for fire-protection service. Required listing or approval evidence is matched to the actual supplied model, pressure, connections and manufacturer in the submittal.

Inlet drilling and working pressure

B16.1 Class 125, B16.5 Class 150 and EN 1092-2 PN16 identify different flange arrangements. The selected inlet pattern and the hydrant’s 250 psi working-pressure series remain separate entries in the purchase schedule.

Hose nozzles, pumper outlets and base fit

NH hose connections

The outlet diameter, thread standard and mating cap identify a hose connection. Our item description retains 2-1/2 in. NH explicitly so a similar-looking pipe thread or another hose standard stays distinguishable.

Pumper connection

The large outlet can use the selected 4 in. NH, 4-1/2 in. NH or 5 in. Storz arrangement. That choice follows the fire service equipment, with the nozzle and cap supplied as a matched interface.

Outlet orientation

Nozzle directions and operating access need room for hose couplings, caps and the hydrant wrench. The selected drawing places those features relative to the main and nearby curb, wall or access route.

Base flange match

Bolt-circle diameter, hole count, facing and flange orientation are checked against the connecting main or spool. The inlet connection drawing keeps those dimensions with the hydrant configuration.

Hydrants for waterworks and project supply

Municipal replacement schedules

A replacement keeps the local hose and pumper interfaces, installation height and inlet connection together. Existing hydrant identification and the accepted connection drawing establish the item to be replaced.

Private fire-water networks

Industrial sites and development projects can group hydrants by location tag and outlet arrangement. The fire-water design establishes the required duty and installation, while our supply list identifies the selected hydrant assemblies.

Hydrant connections and release records

Nozzles and caps

Checks cover the selected outlet standards, cap fit, sealing surfaces and chains. The nozzle configuration is compared with the approved hydrant item before protectors and packing are completed.

Inlet flange

The flange pattern, facing condition and connection orientation are checked against the selected drawing. Damage or debris at the mating surface is resolved before release.

Operation and pressure records

The specified operating and pressure checks retain the actual hydrant identity, test conditions and acceptance result. The order document schedule identifies which records accompany the supplied model.

Coated body and identification

Visible coating, protected machined interfaces and model identification are reviewed together. Project location tags and accessory quantities remain associated with the hydrant packing entry.

Wholesale hydrant orders and protective crating

Supported bodies and bases

Cradles support the cast body and base while nozzle caps and operating stems remain clear of hard restraint points. Protected flange faces and secured cap chains preserve the receiving interfaces.

Mixed outlet configurations

A shipment can contain several listed outlet arrangements. Each configuration has its own quantity and location tag, keeping two-way and three-way items distinct during receiving.

An itemized supply price

Our offer identifies the hydrant configuration, required records, separately listed spares and packing. Quantity, production schedule and destination terms are stated against that defined supply.

Wet-barrel hydrant purchasing questions

How does the 250 psi rating relate to hydrant flow?

Working pressure identifies the selected hydrant pressure series. Available flow follows the water network, residual pressure and the selected hydrant/nozzle hydraulic performance. The project duty is checked against the actual model data and water-supply design.

Can NH outlets connect directly to NPT pipe threads?

The mating equipment uses the specified fire-hose connection standard and size. NH hose threads and NPT pipe threads belong to different joint systems. A required transition is identified as a separate approved adapter assembly.

What identifies the correct hydrant wrench?

The selected hydrant’s operating-nut shape and dimensions identify the wrench interface. Include that detail with the nozzle schedule so the supplied operating fittings match the fire service’s equipment. The operating-nut and nozzle dimensions remain separate interfaces on the selected drawing.

What identifies a spare nozzle cap?

The actual hydrant/nozzle model, connection standard, size, cap thread or coupling form and seal identify a matching spare. Cap chains and attachment hardware are also identified with that selected nozzle assembly.

Does the inlet flange define whether the hydrant has a breakaway feature?

The flange defines the inlet joint. Traffic or breakaway construction is a separate feature of the selected hydrant model, with its own product evidence and project acceptance requirements. Both entries belong in the approved hydrant schedule.

How do the outlet valves differ from the mainline isolation valve?

A wet-barrel arrangement controls the individual outlet openings while the barrel remains charged. An auxiliary valve on the connecting line isolates the hydrant as a unit for the specified maintenance procedure. Our quotation identifies the selected outlet-operating arrangement and lists any separately supplied line-isolation valve as its own item.
