Square-Shaft Helical Pile Manufacturer

Solid-bar leads, oriented couplings and matched extension components

We fabricate square-bar helical pile leads to the released shaft and bearing-plate drawing. Solid bar dimensions, corner shape and prepared ends define the mating coupling; the helix schedule defines the lead below it. Extensions, transition parts and pile tops are identified as their own components.

Published square-bar and helix-plate dimensions

The square-bar catalog identifies a 1-1/2 in. across-flat shaft and two helix-plate thickness selections. The socket drawing also controls the bar corners and finished engagement.

Reference dimensions from the first-party square-bar pile catalog, converted at 25.4 mm/in. Across flats and the diagonal corner envelope are separate dimensions. The accepted material, corner radius, lead arrangement and joint tolerances remain on the released drawing. Torque and foundation capacity come from the foundation design.

Solid-bar material and the complete pile system

Bar and plate specifications

The shaft bar and formed bearing plates use their own materials and acceptance records. A tube extension and the solid bar each carry their own steel name, and a stronger proposed bar is reviewed with its welds and connections.

Section shape and ground conditions

The selected design considers axial and lateral actions, unsupported length and the surrounding soil restraint. A slender solid bar and a larger round tube meet that stiffness requirement differently.

Connection and torque evidence

The joint and drive end must transmit the required installation actions for the identified shaft. The correlation factor and torque limit belong to the system they were established on.

Bar corners, socket orientation and helix layout

Corner clearance within the socket

Across-flat size identifies the bar faces, but the corners define a larger envelope. Corner radius, socket shape and protection thickness are checked together so a nominally matching bar can enter to the required depth.

End preparation and hole direction

The prepared end and transverse holes retain their orientation relative to the bar faces. Rotating a connector or placing its hole from the wrong end datum can prevent the bolt group from lining up at full engagement.

A complete helix sequence

Plate diameter, pitch and spacing are retained from the pilot upward. The square bar fixes the weld interface at each formed plate; the lead drawing identifies the plate position.

A transition is its own assembly

A change from a square lead to a round extension introduces another connection. Its two mating details, hardware and required resistance are reviewed together instead of treating an ordinary round sleeve as an adapter.

Square-bar lead lots and connection-specific extensions

Repeated anchor or pile configurations

Leads with different plate sequences remain separate marks even when the bar width is identical. That identity lets the procurement list distinguish bearing configurations without relying on the overall length alone.

Additional depth and upper connections

Extensions and tops use the released mating detail. An order for more shaft length therefore names the connection family and useful added length, including any change of shaft section above the lead.

Solid bar, formed plates and socket-fit checks

Across flats and corners

The bar check identifies its solid section, face dimensions and corner condition. Socket acceptance also includes the finished mating envelope, measured alongside the across-flat reading.

Helix and weld arrangement

Plate thickness, pitch and spacing are checked against the lead mark. Weld examination follows the specified joint detail and acceptance plan, which is what establishes the plate resistance.

Prepared joint and component identity

The trial connection checks socket engagement, hole direction and bolt grip. Bar, plate and connector material records remain linked to the actual lead and extension marks.

Leads and connection parts itemized

Our quotation separates each lead arrangement from extensions, transitions, tops and hardware. Material and finish entries stay with the particular component.

Protection around the bearing plates

Racks and separators keep the helices from carrying the bundle’s contact loads. Plain bars and extensions form their own groups, with end connections protected against impact and contamination.

Joint-family identification

Couplings and bolt sets are packed against the connection reference. Visually similar solid-bar parts with a different hole direction or socket revision remain distinct at receiving.

Square-shaft pile purchasing questions

Can a hollow square tube replace the solid square shaft?

No automatic substitution is made. A hollow tube has different section properties and connection details; it needs its own design and acceptance basis rather than the solid bar’s outside width alone.

Why can a socket bind even when the across-flat dimensions match?

The bar corners, socket corner shape, straightness and coating also affect the fit. The full mating envelope and engagement need to agree, not just the distance between two flat faces.

Can the lead be driven in either rotational direction?

The helix hand and selected installation procedure determine the intended advance. Reverse rotation is not assumed to be an equivalent installation method or a harmless correction; it follows the actual system instructions.

Does a higher bar steel strength allow a higher drive torque?

The complete shaft, coupling, bolt and drive-end arrangement governs the permitted installation action. A bar material change also affects fabrication and connection behavior, so a new torque limit is not inferred from strength alone.

Can plain extensions and flighted extensions share one part code?

They are different components. An extension carrying bearing plates retains its own helix sequence, length and orientation on the drawing, even if its upper and lower joints match a plain extension.

Are pile-load tests included in the component price?

The ordinary supply quotation covers the identified fabricated steel, hardware and factory records. Site installation and foundation testing are separate scopes unless the contract specifically includes them.
