Roof Mount Solar Racking Supplier

Project-matched rails, frames and attachments for existing roofs

Roof-mount rails, support frames and attachments are selected around the existing roof construction and the module layout. Our package includes the specified rack steel and mounting parts; specialist roof attachments and weatherproofing components can remain with the roof-system supplier.

Roof types and racking supply options

Roof connections, rails and module-retention parts are supplied to the approved roof-area schedule. PV modules, electrical equipment and site installation remain separate from the racking supply.

Roof attachments and the structural load path

Standing-seam connections

Seam shape, width and folding detail determine which clamp can seat correctly. The clamp and foot connect the rail to that seam arrangement, with their specified contact and fasteners. A similar-looking roof profile is not a substitute for the accepted attachment detail.

Penetrating feet and supports

A penetrating attachment transfers reactions through its fastener to the specified roof support. Sheet profile, support location and connection depth belong in the fixing detail. Attachment centers follow that support layout, keeping the rack connection and the building structure aligned.

Flat-roof frame geometry

Frame footprint, rail elevations and module angle determine where a flat-roof array bears on the roof. Anchored connections or the engineered ballast arrangement complete its load path. Drain outlets, access routes and rooftop equipment remain visible in the layout rather than being covered by a repeated frame grid.

Wind zones and roof capacity affect attachment quantities and spacing. The approved roof design carries those reactions from module to clamp, rail, attachment and supporting construction; module test pressure alone does not size the roof rack.

Rails, module clamps and frame contact dimensions

Our roof-rack quotation identifies the rail material and section, full or cut lengths, splice positions and matching clamps or bolted retainers. Selection follows the actual module frame and mounting zones, together with the roof attachment. The LONGi figures below show one module-manual example of the geometry to check.

For the order, the selected module model and its applicable installation manual define the clamp geometry, positions and fastening requirements. Frame drainage openings and active glass surfaces remain clear of the retention parts.

Roof contact, flashing and material finishes

Attachment and water seal

A foot or bracket carries the structural connection; flashing and seal components protect the roof penetration. The accepted roof detail identifies how those pieces meet the covering and supporting construction. We separate their supplied quantities so the structural foot is not priced as if it were the whole weatherproofing assembly.

Pads and roof surfaces

Flat-roof contact details identify the membrane, pad material and bearing arrangement beneath each foot. Those pads are matched to the roof-system requirements. The finished frame footprint also keeps the designed water paths and maintenance access open.

Steel and aluminum contact parts

Fabricated steel members carry the specified galvanized or painted finish. Aluminum rails and specialist attachment parts retain their own material and surface requirements. Contact pads, isolating pieces and finished mating faces are included where shown on the accepted connection detail.

Rail joints and module-row hardware

Rail lengths and splices

The rail schedule distinguishes full lengths, cut pieces and splice locations. Joints carry the selected system’s fasteners, engagement and movement detail. Openings, roof breaks and changes in support level create specific pieces rather than an assumed continuous rail run.

End and interior positions

Module row ends need different retention pieces from joints between adjacent modules. The takeoff counts those positions from the actual array layout, together with the scheduled rail connections. Gaps at access routes or rooftop equipment remain separate row ends in that count.

Connection access

Attachment bolts and clamp fasteners need usable tool access in the assembled arrangement. Roof-interface parts are grouped with their mating feet or rails, while the assembly drawings identify which connections are completed in the shop and which are made on the roof.

Racking packages for existing commercial roofs

Sites with several roof types

Standing-seam and flat-roof areas can share one procurement order. Each area keeps its own attachments and counted parts, even when the module model is the same.

Extensions and replacement lots

An expansion order identifies the new module rows and the connection to retained rack parts. A replacement lot names the affected rail, foot or retention part and its mating interface. Those pieces can be priced separately from an entirely new rooftop array.

Roof-system compatibility and order records

Profile and attachment fit

Rail profiles, attachment holes and mating foot or clamp faces are checked against their roof-interface part numbers. The inspection records identify the actual attachment checked.

Module and mounting combination

Required mounting records identify the rail, retention parts and selected module or frame model. A dimensional match and an evaluated system combination are different procurement checks. Substituted components retain their own review before they enter the accepted parts schedule.

Bonding and rooftop fire records

Bonding records identify the intended electrical path through clamps, splices and grounding parts. A rooftop fire record identifies its tested module, racking and roof assembly conditions. Where a UL 2703 record is required, we match its investigated function and configuration to the specified supply.

Roof attachment and flashing documents

Structural attachment details carry their own roof connection and reaction requirements. Flashing documents address the water-penetration interface; UL 2703A addresses that function separately. The order document list distinguishes those records from module-mounting and bonding records.

Rails, Attachments and Hardware Prices

Roof-rack prices itemize rails, support frames, attachments and module hardware by layout revision. Weatherproofing, contact pieces and required records are listed with the included and buyer-supplied parts.

Receiving by roof area

Packing groups follow the roof-zone and row schedule. Rail bundles carry their lengths and piece counts; separate containers hold feet, clamps, splices and fastening sets. End/interior attachment quantities remain traceable to the area where they will be installed.

Shipment units and site access

Long rails use supported bundles with protected contact faces and strap points. Small roof-interface parts are packed separately so gaskets and mating surfaces are not crushed by members. The packing schedule states bundle dimensions and quantities for the site team’s receiving and lifting plan.

Roof racking purchasing questions

Can we provide our own roof attachments?

Yes. Buyer-supplied attachments are excluded from our priced supply and identified on the parts schedule. The rail-to-attachment detail identifies the mating geometry, supplied hardware and any restrictions stated by that attachment supplier.

Can existing rails or clamps remain when modules change?

A new module can change the allowed clamp position, bearing geometry and evaluated mounting combination. Retained rack parts are matched against the new module and selected system requirements before the replacement parts schedule is released. An unchanged frame height alone does not establish compatibility.

What if the roof covering will be replaced before the array is installed?

The final roof profile and support construction become the attachment basis for fabrication. The roofing and PV installation sequence also identifies which interface pieces can be fitted before or after the new covering. We price the racking package against that accepted roof arrangement.

Can rails be supplied as cut lengths for separate roof areas?

Yes. The rail schedule identifies full lengths, cuts and splice positions for each roof area. Part marks distinguish pieces around roof breaks, openings and changes in support level.
